I began to seriously pursue photography as a hobby back in 2007. In 2009, when my daughter entered middle school, I began shooting photos for her show choir program and sharing them on Flickr.
I was caught by surprise when I received such a positive response and genuine appreciation from so many parents. I found I not only enjoyed taking photos of my child, but I also discovered a real passion in capturing the raw emotions and excitement that children of all ages have when they perform live on stage.
I also realized that I had developed a deep, personal satisfaction in being able to give parents and families a glimpse into their child’s experience that they may not have been able to see. A picture may only capture a split-second in time, but sometimes the right moment can create a powerful image that will live forever in our memories.
